This great weather gave us awesome views of the Alps and made our one hour drive a breeze. We couldn’t resist stopping at one of the rest stops just to admire the mountains. It proved to be the perfect day trip from Geneva, Switzerland.

I’m not really sure about people living in Paris though, but I still think most people living there love the city. Being a large city, Paris offers everything to everyone in terms of entertainment, food and tourist attractions. It is hard to pick the best tourist attractions, but if you’re only spending a few days in Paris you’re better off sticking with the well known tourist attractions. These Paris tourist attractions are what makes Paris famous, so they are worth seeing them.

Yvoire, France is a 700 years old medieval town

Yvoire, France - Old CastleWe loved this little town. This is a great spot for a day trip from Geneva. We would’ve loved to take the boat from Geneva but we didn’t have enough time. The boat ride takes about two hours because it has to stop in a few places before reaching Yvoire. The boat ride looks very appealing especially on a clear day and I am sure that the views from the boat are just amazing. However, because we didn’t have enough time, we decided to drive instead and it took us about 30 minutes from Geneva.

Return from Alpine Pasture in Annecy, France.

Annecy, France - Farmer Festival We were in Annecy in 2005 at the beginning of October and stumbled upon this farmers’ festival. It took me a while to figure out what the name of this festival was but I finally found it: Return from alpine pasture (Le Retour des Alpages). It takes place the second Saturday of October, every year. We just happened to visit Annecy on that Saturday and it was great…We sampled local food, saw a cow parade and listened to local music…all this with tons of other people.

The Arch of Triumph in Bucharest, Romania is similar to the Arch of Triumph in Paris, France.

Who said that only the French have an Arch of Triumph? Well there is another one in Bucharest, Romania…it’s a little smaller…but it is called the Arch of Triumph and serves the same purpose as the original Arch of Triumph in Paris, France. The Romanian military uses the Arch of Triumph in Bucharest as the focal point for their yearly parade, just like the French military marches on Champs d’Elysees on France National Day on July 14th.

Is the Eiffel Tower overrated ?

Eiffel Tower, Paris, FranceI have to start with Paris! This is my favorite city…I just love Paris! Ok, ok…enough said about Paris…but how about the Eiffel Tower? Some people may suggest that it’s not worth visiting, but I disagree completely. I believe the Eiffel Tower is worth all the effort and cash required for climbing all the way to the top. So is the Eiffel Tower overrated ?
