Anglesey Abbey is closely connected to Cambridge because it’s only about 15 minutes driving distance from Cambridge. What is strange about Anglesey Abbey is the word “abbey”. Judging by the name alone you expect Aglessey to be some ruins of an old Abbey. However, it’s far from the truth.
The English country side is beautiful. Driving away from a major city like Cambridge will give a great surprise when driving through the countryside and stoping in a much smaller town like Ely. Ely has amazing history and it’s small enough that it can easily be visited in a day. We enjoyed Ely very much ourselves. Read on to see what’s worth seeing and doing in Ely, England.
When visiting a major tourist attraction, most people only see the “big” things. It’s understandable because not everyone has the luxury of spending a lot of time in a great place.
