Anglesey Abbey is closely connected to Cambridge because it’s only about 15 minutes driving distance from Cambridge. What is strange about Anglesey Abbey is the word “abbey”. Judging by the name alone you expect Aglessey to be some ruins of an old Abbey. However, it’s far from the truth.
Italy is a large country. You can drive for many hours to reach certain famous tourist destinations. It is really cool then, when you are able to find some cool places to stop on the way. While Genoa is a famous tourist attraction in its own right, we only had time to treat it as a rest stop on our way to the French Riviera. We were only able to spend about three hours in Genoa, but we were really impressed by how the city and the port looked. Read on to see some cool travel pictures from Genoa, Italy.
Northern Italy is home of most of Italy’s industry but it’s also home of the Alps. The Italian part of the Alps gives the tourist ey unending scenery to delight in and plenty of space to relax. Barcis is a very small tourist village nestled in the Alps on the shores of Lago di Barcis(Lake Barcis). Driving to Barcis will take you thorough some of the longest tunnels in Italy, but it will also give you beautiful and amazing natural beauty to behold.
The English country side is beautiful. Driving away from a major city like Cambridge will give a great surprise when driving through the countryside and stoping in a much smaller town like Ely. Geneva, Switzerland is a great city to visit. There are many things to see in Geneva, but sometimes people are fortunate to be able to spend more time in Geneva and would like to see some other places around the city. I was able to visit Geneva several times and I learned about a few beautiful places right around Geneva. They are all within driving distance and all make for a great day trip.
When visiting a major tourist attraction, most people only see the “big” things. It’s understandable because not everyone has the luxury of spending a lot of time in a great place. However, most tourist attractions have a lot more to offer than what one can visit in a few hours. Cambridge, England is no exception to the rule. While the town is full of tourist buses that come for a day trip from London, Cambrige yields it’s beauty to those who want to slow down and explore the city. The small village of Houghton in Cambridgeshire, England is a typical small old English village full of personality and charm. Boasting a few old thatched roof cottages and an old village pub, Houghton will make you feel very British all of a sudden as you walk through the village. The Arch of Triumph in Paris France is one of the most famous attractions in Paris. Everyone who visits Paris wants to see it. However, once you get to see it and get close to it you’ll notice lots of people on top of the Arch. But how do they get there? There are no huge signs showing you how to and you can’t cross the huge and scary round about around the Arch. You just need to find the entry to the underground passageway that will lead you there. The Swiss Alps are amazing mountains. Switzerland is always connected with the Swiss Alps in my mind and I have always loved to see pictures of this amazing mountain range in Europe. Since I only been able to see the Swiss Alps from a distance, I have been looking for some great pictures of them.
